Poit Dhubh is a vatted whisky which is produced by Praban na Linne Ltd on the Isle of Skye in the Hebrides. Poit Dhubh is pronounced "potch ghoo" and means ’illicit still’ or ’black pot’. The illegal theme is also present in the name of the company; Pràban na Linne is Gaelic for ’a smugglers outlet by the Sound of Sleat’. Poit Dhubh is matured in sherry casks and is bottled unchill-filtered.
Poit Dhubh is highly recommended if you like sweet, flowery and complex whiskies.
Appearance: Dark amber..
Nose: Vanilla, oak and peat tones. Chocolate.
Taste: Very fruity but still well balanced and complex. Slightly peaty with a hint of smoke. A must-try!
Finish: Long, smooth finish.
Und noch einer:
Whisky: Poit Dhubh
Age: 8 years
Type: Vatted malt
Strength: 43%
Country: Scotland
Distillery: Invergordon Distillery

Nose: Peat and nuts.
Flavour: A little seaweed and peat. Nothing much else.

Comments: Nice, but nothing special.
