ZitatYou mean what made me think of "The Ghost and Mrs Muir"? No idea, I guess it was the naval officer with his Victoriana and snowstorms...
...and the parrot in the cage, I see.

*grrrrrrrrrrr*
I'm still creepin' around in the first part of this book - lots of work and only a few time less to read.
I think I like the book, it's amusing to read although I also do not yet know its real intention... about WHAT it really is.
Aaah, I think time will show this.
What I like is how the Author describes situations and persons e.g. during the jumble sale.

I promised you only to offer corrections when the text becomes difficult to understand. Here I don't quite know what you want to say, Batcat, because this does not make sense. Better might be:
lots of work and only little time left to read
You might remember this from school English lessons:
"a few" denotes an amount that can be counted as in "a few minutes" because you count minutes by 1,2,3 ...
"little" is used for amounts that cannot be counted as in "a little time"

That's it! Thank you!
I´m around p.60, it's the same with me: so litte time to read
But I think, I will have time at the weekend and go forward a lot. I hope...
