My favourites are "Excellent women" and "The Eyre Affair".
I'm not quite sure if I'm going to discuss or just to read, but the books sounds interessting. I'll try it.

("stowaway" - blinder Passagier - must be one of the most useless words that I learned in English classes at school... I don't think I've ever used it since. But there was one story in our textbook called "The stowaway", and the word has stuck.

*I know what the wannabe-pirate muffin means... this word is absolutely unknown to me as well as to my numerous dictionaries... *rhubarbrhubarb*
(*) in this context. "deseam" indeed exists and means "(Metall) flämmen".

Magyk or Eragon are not my genre, Jodi Picoult ist about 418 pages, Lolita in Tehran doesn't wake my interest (translated 1:1 from German to English, there is surely a better translation) as well as the island of Dr. Moreau. The geisha might be interesting, but to help the Pym, I ignored other possibilities
